The armillary sphere is an ancient Chinese astronomical instrument used to observe celestial bodies and demonstrate celestial phenomena. It is geocentric, consisting of a series of concentric rings that simulate the celestial sphere. By observing the positions of celestial bodies on these rings, astronomers could determine their coordinates and study their motions.
