Portrait sculpts of character heads are typically difficult. (painting heads likewise). Artists talk of a head shape in terms of facial planes, which define the head "geometry". these planes are broken into sub planes which lend depth and detail to the geometry. Yet iin reality, t really boils down to the eyes of the character. And particularly the eyebrow.
In a study regarding which facial features provoked recognition among observers, it was found "eyebrows" are the most salient feature in viewer's minds. Followed immediately by the eyes, themselves Eyes ARE the focal point of any character portrait study. From the eyes all other geometry flows. As everything is "proportioned" in relation to the eyes. Meaning it''s "The eyes: and eyebrows" which either sell the portrait to a viewer or fall short.
Following in rank of recognition are the head outline and ... the mouth. Brad Pitt's mouth is very pronounced and challenging. A cursory browsing of "3d" versions of Brad pitt (or sketches) validates this assessment. AS Brad Pitt has distinct features and is the subject of MANY artistic "attempts." But most fall short.
cihanfb26, however, nails his Brad Pitt work. The eyebrows, eyes, head shape, and mouth are on target. The only minor critique is Pitt's jawline could be "a-bit" more defined. like in Joe Black or Troy. Yet I also understand, from personal experience, it's difficult with Pitt's face. So overall, cihanfb26's Brad Pitt, is an excellent depiction! Bravo Zulu bro!
