Alphonse Gabriel Al Capone, born January 17, 1899 – January 25, 1947, sometimes known by the nickname Scarface, was an American gangster and businessman who attained notoriety during the Prohibition era as the co-founder and boss of the Chicago Outfit. His seven-year reign as crime boss ended when he went to prison at age 33.
Capone was born in New York City in 1899 to Italian immigrant parents. He joined the Five Points Gang as a teenager, and became a bouncer in organized crime premises such as brothels. In his early twenties, he moved to Chicago and became a bodyguard and trusted factotum for Johnny Torrio, head of a criminal syndicate that illegally supplied alcohol—the forerunner of the Outfit—and was politically protected through the Unione Siciliana. A conflict with the North Side Gang was instrumental in Capone's rise and fall. Torrio went into retirement after North Side gunmen almost killed him, handing control to Capone. Capone expanded the bootlegging business through increasingly violent means, but his mutually profitable relationships with mayor William Hale Thompson and the city's police meant he seemed safe from law enforcement.
Has skin texture and his famous scar, thanks to which he got the nickname scarface, is thoroughly copied from his photographs. He got this scar in his younger years, when he got into a knife fight because of a girl. Al Capone later hired the man, who gave him these scars as one of his bodyguards.
Who was Al Capone? The most famous criminal, or the man who provided the people things the government unjustly refused them. You decide. Al Capone always said that he had made money off the things that people should had had gotten freely. So is he a businessman, who supplied the public demand or is he a bloody murderer? Al Capone did give orders to kill people, most well known is the blood bath of Saint Valentine Day's massacre in 1929 and he was jailed in Al Catraz due to non paying taxes, since the goverment couldn't catch him on more serious crimes. In jail he formed a band and played banjo, but was hated by many other jailmates, because of his mafia origin and even had been stabbed with a knife. He got out of jail because of tertiary syphilis and died of it in the poor remains of his former empire.
His most famous quote is: You can do much more with a kind word and a bat, than with a kind word alone.
Whether you are a gangster movies fan, a history fan or a fan of the culture of the 20th century, this bust will be great for you!
