Description

The Gezer “calendar,” a small limestone tablet with an early hebrew inscription discovered in 1908 in the ancient city of Gezer, 20 miles west of Jerusalem. It is commonly dated to the 10th century BCE. The plaque is containing a calendar. It has proved to be of value by informing modern researchers of ancient Israel’s agricultural seasons and in providing a glimpse into the Hebrew script and language of Solomon’s day.
