During the survey of the Droogdock shipyards in Rotterdam and De Schelde in Vlissingen, the submerged hulls of the destroyers HNLMS Tjerk Hiddes, HNLMS Gerard Callenburgh, and HNLMS Philips van Almonde were found. All were raised, but only HNLMS Gerard Callenburgh decided to finish building. This ship entered the German Navy as ZH-1.
