Description

A manual transmission (MT), also known as manual gearbox, standard transmission (in Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States), or stick shift (in the United States), is a multi-speed motor vehicle transmission system, where gear changes require the driver to manually select the gears by operating a gear stick and clutch (which is usually a foot pedal for cars or a hand lever for motorcycles). The manual gearbox function starts when the clutch is disengaged and the torque from the engine flow through to the input shaft then it is transferred to gear 1 top, When the 1st gear is engage the gear 1 top drives the gear 1 counter shaft and the gear 4 counter shaft drives the gear 4 top, i.e. gear 1 top and gear 4 counter shaft are the driving while gear 1 counter shaft and gear 4 top are the driven. When the 2nd gear is engage the gear 1 top drives the gear 1 counter shaft and the gear 3 counter shaft drives the gear 3 top. When the 3rd gear is engage the gear 1 top drives the gear 1 counter shaft and the gear 2 counter shaft drives the gear 2 top. When the 4th gear is engage the speed of the input shaft equivalent to that of the output shaft, this is also called direct drive. When the 5th gear is engage the gear 1 top drives the gear 1 counter shaft and the gear 5 counter shaft drives the gear 5 top. When the Reverse gear is engage the gear 1 top drives the gear 1 counter shaft and the reverse gear counter shaft drives the idler gear while the idler gear drives the reverse top gear. At 1st gear we have the highest torque with slowest speed while at 5th gear we have the lowest torque with Fastest speed.
