Highly detailed model of the classic 'Flying Scotsman' steam train.
Geometry and Rigging
This is a high-poly model (522,903 vertices, 513,962 faces) featuring both the main engine and the tender, and including highly detailed cabin interior. The wheels and drive-train are fully rigged with an armature that animates all the piston and drive rods simply by rotating a single wheel pair (the rear-most of the large wheels), additional constraints are also included that will automatically rotate all the wheels appropriately simply by moving the 'Engine' bone on the Y axis relative to the 'Root' bone of the armature.
Note: the rigging and armature is only available in the native Blender format.
Materials and Textures
The model is fully unwrapped with non-overlapping UVs. It uses six PBR materials (and an additional simple glass material for the windows, the lamp lenses and the instrument faces), each material comes with 4k texture maps - base colour, ambient occlusion, metallic, roughness and normal. The materials were designed in Cycles but as PBR materials should work fine in any render engine that supports the metallic PBR workflow. Also included are .psd files of the main paintwork areas with the base colour and dirt on separate layers to make it easy to adjust the livery if required.
Note: the textures may not connect properly when importing the .obj format, however the texutre maps are logically named along with the materials they are associated with and the meshes they should be applied to.
