CC 300 locomotives are one of the hydraulic diesel locomotives in Indonesia belonging to the Directorate General (Ditjen) of the Ministry of Transportation which are used specifically for official needs of the Directorate General of Railways [2]. The locomotive with two cabin drivers is made by PT INKA. The design and integration of the system is purely the product of Indonesian engineers. Even though this locomotive is owned by the Directorate General of Railways, this location is still operated by PT KAI.
This locomotive has a length of 14.135 mm, width of 2,642 mm, height of 3,575 mm, and weight of 84 tons. [1] The maximum speed is 120 km / h, the engine power is 2200 hp and has a traction force of 270 kN when the locomotive starts to move from a total stop state. The engine uses a Caterpillar 3512B HD type diesel engine (Caterpillar 3500, V-12 configuration (code number 12 at 3512), long stroke (code B), cylinder diameter × cylinder step = 170 mm × 215 mm, compression ratio = 15.5: 1) with Voith Turbo Transmission L620reU2 hydraulic transmission. The braking system uses Westinghouse Air Brake Technologies (Wabtec) products, the master controller uses Woojin products from South Korea, also equipped with a Caterpillar CAT C18 generator set (generator) so it does not need a generator train if it pulls the passenger train circuit.
