The Cryogenic Propulsion Stage (CPS) was a proposed third stage for NASA's Space Launch System. Block 1 would have been a relatively traditional third stage, but in its block 2 version, it would have been upgraded to support months-to-years duration flight, docking, propellant transfer, power delivery to payloads, and other advanced tug capabilities. Block 2 would add a pair of UltraFlex solar arrays and radiators, as well as other subsystems, to support this. CPS was canceled when NASA switched from a J-2X second stage for SLS, to the RL10-powered Exploration Upper Stage, combining CPS's Earth-departure role into EUS and defering the long-duration capability indefinitely
