it would be really great if you did basic rigging on your vehicles so that we could turn the wheels and what not

Unfortunately there is no "universal vehicle rigging", different usage/software may need different rigging.
However, the model hierarchy & the pivot orientations allow for everything you'll need. When you turn the steering it behaves as expected. Of course you can turn the wheels as well.
In this case this our understanding of basic rigging.
