Minesweeper Project 89.2 former East GermanyIn service from 1971 to 1990.A total of 30 units and 2 special vehicles.NATO Code: Condor II classA total of 30 ships were built from 1969 to 1973 on the Peenewerft Wolgast. (Unit price about 8.7 million GDR mark).The main task of the ships was mine searching and mine clearance. It was suitable for mine laying and also for throwing depth chargesto the submarine defense. Accompanying and reconnaissance tasks could also be fulfilled.The MSR ships Project 89.2 bore the brunt of the permanent outpost service in theFramework of the Allied Baltic Fleets (VOF).The shipping area was the Baltic Sea, the North Sea to 61 degrees north latitude and the English Channel.Of the 30 ships, 14 were broken off.The Federal Navy has kept 6 ships until 1991 on the move. One of these was subsequently scrapped.The 1991 still remaining 15 ships were sold or delivered.Four ships went to Uruguay in 1991.Latvia received two ships in 1993.All other nine ships went to Indonesia, where they still serve today.
