Hello, my friend.The Ju 88 was a very successful aircraft during World War II.And the Ju 88S-1 was another modification of the aircraft. The ventral gondola was removed from the structure, defensive weapons were reduced to one MG 131 in the rear installation. It also reduced the armor protection of the cockpit. On airplanes of this modification, they again returned to the external suspension of the bombs - ETC 1000 bomb racks were installed under the wings. An additional gas tank could be installed in the rear bomb bay. The BMW 801D engines were replaced by the BMW 801G-2, equipped with a GM 1 boost device that injected nitric oxide (N2O) into the engine's fuel system. Its injection made it possible to maintain engine power at high altitudes. N2O cylinders were placed in the rear bomb bay. The use of GM I allowed 'to increase the speed of the aircraft by 45 km / h, and the ceiling by 1400 meters.
