Finite Element Analysis of a bike suspension fork crown. Forces acting on the fork dropouts/ front wheel mounting points. Constrained on frame section ends.
The colors on the fork crown, ranging from blue to green to yellow to red, shows the material Von Mises stress when load is acting on dropouts (like when you use front brake on your bike). Blue color = no material stress, red = high material stress. Thus, red color indicates where the part will break (yield) if loade too much .
Reach out if you want me to run a FEA on your CAD model! Send me the model, along with a description of forces and constraints acting on the system!! I'm a mechanical engineer, and use this FEA tool regularly. I also do CFD (fluid flow simulations)
