A simple, stylized, game-ready asset inspired by the collectible gems in old games like Spyro the Dragon and Crash Bandicoot, made in Blender with 9 colors for the gems. Theoretically all colors if you edit that part yourself, but still 9 if you don't. There are probably other ways to package the textures, but I'm hoping this is simpler for the end user.
792 vertices, 740 faces, and 1100 tris per ball. 10 spikes, 20 gem faces. As with most things, lighting makes a big difference in showing off their shine, compare Group Previews 1 and 2 for a demonstration. Does not break apart into individual gemstones, nor do the spikes fly outward like shrapnel.
File types include .fbx (and necessary textures), .stl, .blend, .mtl, and .obj. for each color. You probably could 3D print it, but it might not be a good idea.
I've been calling them Greed Urchins during the development process because they're spiky, shiny balls of gold and gemstones, like sea urchins devised by an insanely rich person. Usable for any purpose that strikes your fancy, including but not limited to:
-Collectible Treasures
-Magical Landmines
-Fantasy Lighting Fixtures (if put on the end of a chain or a stick, which should also work for weapons)
-Projectiles
-Decoration
-Artifacts of Power
-A Spinning Icon for Loading Screens
-Power-ups
-Soul Jars
-Impractically Expensive Electrical Conductors
-Flying Drone Enemies
-Caltrops Used By The World's Flashiest Ninja
-Floating Grapple Points
-Dwarven Disco Ball
-Worn Jewelry for Masochists
-Fixed Points In A Laser Security Grid
-Elemental Fuel Tanks
-The Ball In A Sport That Doesn't Exist
and more that I can't think of at the moment!
