Description
A medieval ducking stool, loosely based on one that still exists in Canterbury, England
A suspected witch was seated in the stool and then “ducked” underwater. If they drowned they weren’t a witch if they survived, they were. The witch would then be paraded through the street and hung by the neck until dead. Now that’s medieval justice for you.
