Basic Katakana - Japanese characters

Basic Katakana - Japanese characters Low-poly 3D model

Description

Here you can find all the basic katakana characters. Models are fully 3D with a material with basic color applied. The number of vertices for each character varies from 100-300 for compound characters. The number of vertices given in the description refers to the total number for all the characters.

The characteristic compounds like キュ, チョ, etc. are modeled separately to preserve the scale ratio between characters.

In the original .blend file, the characters are grouped into collections based on sounds, e. g. there is the k sounds collection (ka, ki, ku, ke, ko). Each character is a separate object named according to the sound it corresponds to.

The origin of each object is placed at the bottom of each character, therefore words can be easily inlined.

Each character has a subdivision surface modifier set but not applied. The higher quality of the character model is therefore easily achievable. The included stl files and obj files were prepared with 3 levels of subdicisions (>1 600 000 vertices in total) and 1 level of subdivision (>100 000 vertices in total).

You can use it for printable models of necklaces and pendants with your names in Japanese or anything you imagine!

Woud be grateful for any comment!
