Nok Head This terra cotta head was once attached to a statue, but was found in a riverbed. It was probably destroyed in an accident because the breaking point is so uneven. It would have been attached to a life-size body and was probably inlaid with glass and painted. In the head, there are holes that would have allowed for decoration such as beads. Because of this, historians say that this figure is a god or effigy of the leader. The body would have been dressed and decorated as well as the head.
