Description

Crown glass or bullseye glass was an early type of window glass. It consist of round discs hold in place by a lead framework. Usually each pane was between 7 to 15 cm in diameter. It came into use in the 14th century. First just small parts of a wooden window shutter where equipped with a inlay of this glass. During the 15th / 16th century whole windows were paneled in this manner.
