had exactly what I was looking for! separate textures for font and dice itself. Easy import into Element 3d. (Dropping the OBJ directly did do some weird stuff but I used Blender to convert the DEA into an OBJ and that seemed to work fine. not sure what exactly happened but I'm new to this so probably my fault)
