They should be hollow or faceless in the middle. In order to print you'll need to shell the polygons. When I scanned these items, they were never 3d print ready, buy were for reference. I can make them print ready for you if that's an issue. Or you can try to do it in mesh mixer. If it is loading as a solid, the print software is closing the holes automatically.
