Description

PortalEdges made for sleeping on big walls while climbing routes that take multiple days. I created an open and closed version of the tents, but the frames can also be used without the tents. These work really well with subsurface scattering shaders to create that nice light effect.

Overal they have a quite low polycount so they're also perfect for use in game development. The environment as seen in the renders is not included in the package.

Some technical info:

  • The plastic fabric (tent) is double sided for better performance. This can easily be removed in the Maya sourcefile.
  • The tents have overlapping UVs on the sides and the portaledge frame has a lot of UV overlap on repeating elements such as straps, bolts, and carabiners. The tent and frame textures are separated.
