Well, the models are good and I like the design. The UV mapping is quite good but the texture space is completely wasted. The provided AO is really bad because of this, super low quality. The provided model is the one shown in the screenshot, but every piece in one team is collapsed. So I had to do a lot of work here, detach each piece, set the pivot, move them to 000, add a uvwmapping modifier to organize those bad uv islands... lots of work to make it usable. In short, the mesh are good, the uvs are good, but the organization is a mess.

Thank you for your purchase. I am sorry my model caused such aggravation. This particular model was designed for the Project Felix (Now Adobe Dimension) Sports Challenge. They had specific parameters for us to follow, including merging or separating mesh based on the material. Everything in the scene is on one UVset, so if you pull up a material, yeah looks like a lot of wasted space. Moving the pieces would have indeed caused a messed up ao. Knowing that this was not the way things are normally done is why I had this in the description "* Geometry is separated by material for this challenge, please see my profile for an identical set if this is not satisfactory for your needs." I had also uploaded a version that would have better suited your needs here: https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-models/sports/equipment/marble-chess-set I'm sorry for the confusion. The other version has separate UVs sets for each of the following; one for the board, one for all the white pieces, and one for all the black pieces. Each chess piece has the original position in the setup position...i.e. if zero out transforms would be back to start position. Also, there is a version without the pieces being moved too. I would love to give you those files if you would contact me via the product support link. You can find this link by going to your "My purchases" list and clicking the little i icon ender the actions column next to this product. This will create a thread for me to pass the files to you. Hopefully, you will see that normally my models are not organized in such a way.

Ouch! Then it is my fault for not reading that. Well, don't worry, I already did all the work. It was not that bad ;) Regards

Good design, good geometry and good uvs. May need repackaging them, but the content is very well made.
