Uranus Orbiter and Probe

Uranus Orbiter and Probe 3D model

Description

The yet-unnamed Uranus Orbiter and Probe (UOP) is a proposed NASA mission to Uranus. UOP was recommended by the National Research Council's 2022 Planetary Science Decadal Survey, as the highest-priority Flagship-class planetary probe mission. UOP would perform multiple passes of Uranus's moons, in addition to a prolonged orbital mission around the planet itself, and would also deploy a small entry probe into Uranus's atmosphere, similar to the Huygens probe carried aboard Cassini. UOP would launch in 2031 on a Falcon Heavy or equivalently-powerful rocket
