DESCRIPTION

This high poly model is build very near to scale and in as much detail as possible for the use in video animations. This model uses simple materials and requires no texture materials. The model is geometrically detailed as possible and was developed with actual H-1 engines as a reference. The model also includes a great amount of detail in turbines and pumps . It could be used in animations of the historic Saturn 1 or 1B boosters or a Delta launch or you may use it in some sci fi project. Please keep in mind our Saturn 1B rocket model is available in our publicly available 3d model library.

The Saturn 1 and Saturn 1B used the H-1 engines in a cluster of 8 to lift the giant Saturn rocket and payload as the 1st stage of an Apollo program launch. This rocket engine developed 205,000 lbs thrust. After the conclusion of the use of Saturn 1 boosters many of these engines were left unused. They were then revised and modified slightly to become the Rocketdyne RS-27 engine and used in the boosters for the Delta unmanned rocket launches beginning in 2000.
