Firefly Alpha Rocket

Firefly Alpha Rocket 3D model

Description

Firefly Aerospace's Alpha medium-lift launch vehicle. Alpha is designed to place up to 1 ton in low-Earth orbit. Four Reaver engines power the first stage, and one Lightning engine on the second stage. Later upgrades will increase payload capacity to at least 1.3 tons, add a reusable in-space tug, and allow reusability of the booster, prior to replacement by Firefly's next rocket, Beta. Alpha's development had faced numerous challenges due to IP claims by Firefly's competitors, as well as its status as a Ukranian-owned company, but a test launch was performed in 2021 (ending in failure, but hopefully the next flight will perform better)

All materials and textures are packed into the .blend file. Unapplied modifiers and instancing have been used to reduce file size and enable easy editing.
