SUSIE (Smart Upper Stage for Innovative Exploration) is a proposed crewed spacecraft under development by Arianegroup (formerly Airbus Safran Launchers). It is a fully reusable vehicle, which will perform a lifting reentry and a propulsive landing at the end of each mission. The vehicle supports unpressurized cargo in a payload bay similar to that of the Space Shuttle, while crew are accommodated in the forward section and an optional docking module. Initial missions would launch onboard Ariane 6, eventually moving to Ariane Next as that rocket enters service
