The model uses a 2:1 texture image of the earht, similar format to NASA blue marble images (which you can use instead). The image used is a colored country texture with flat colors. Unside the globe is a wireframe-type model, effectively a skeleton of the earth. Each of the 36 segments uses the one texture. Each segment was cut from a full sphere. When they join up at the end of the animation the texture isn't seamless. To compensate, there is a full globe above the camera which slots in at frame 361. This frame can be used instead of frame 360. The animation consists of the camera rotating 360 degrees aroung the globe. Each segment of the globe starts away from the globe skeleton. During the camera rotation the seqments move in to their final position.
