This model of a realistic exoplanet is one of those moons/exoplanets one might expect to find in orbits of newly formed stars. Just like its star, this planet is still very young. This new planet had little time to cool down and as a result there are a lot of visible magma veins running across the surface. When planets form they also get bombarded frequently with meteorites and comments and because of this, one can find many craters on its surface.
Even although the planet is still cooling, it formed relatively far from its star and gets little starlight. As a result, even although the planet has a lot of visible magma, water ice has also started to collect on its higher ridges, giving it a white appearance. The red color of the surrounding rocks, similar to mars, is a result of iron oxide.
Technical information
In real life, this planet would have a diameter of around 2.000 km in diameter. Some 3d programs do not display objects of this size very well. In order to avoid complications, and because most users want to decide the exact diameter themselves, the model itself is not scaled to the real life size.
