Model created for educational/background purposes. The clouds and night-lights can be easily adjusted to your preference. A noise texture was used for the stars. Can be disabled in the node editor.
Model has 5 objects, each with a material with the same name as the object. The material contains the textures, if textures are missing just assign the right image textures. The scene also has a camera and light.
I didn't use a UV Map, I used texture coordination to assign all the textures. I used a bump map for the clouds and terrain.

The model was created in Blender 2.78b, everything is already set up. To make things easier, move the texture files into the same folder the .blend file is, if by some chance the textures don't display, you just need to assign the textures to the correct nodes (tutorial included).
The scene colour was set to black, you can move the sun lamp around to light the earth or simply change the scene colour.
All objects have the correct names with correct material names.
All objects scaled to 1,1,1 and rotation to 0,0,0 Scene units is set to meters. The dimensions of the model is 20m x 20m. With a radius of 10m and diameter of 20m.
