What a culmination of work over the years with new features in the compositor!
Coming as a result of another project, For Anime - Motion Smear, this got a nibble in the posts and a tutorial was born. From that tutorial, these nodegroups that will help your workflow FLY - as far as quick outlines go, hehe!
What is included?
A Demo Scene to play with and test out the groups
A separate file to append from:
Color Outlines - Converts black outlines into colored outlines based on the image
Normals Based Outlines
Depth Based Outlines
Material Boundery Outlines - Converts the picking layer from the cryptomatte node into outlines
Mask Outlines - A single mask silhouette outline
Shadow Outlines - Based on the shadow pass - maskable for a specific object or set of objects
Texture Tracing - Simple model, based on contrast.
Eye Outline Removal - Swells the eyeball mask to clean around the eyes to re-add the lashes only.
Note: Only append from the append file - they are the most up to date and polished versions of the nodegroups.
These are for more than just anime! They should work for any 2D workflow that requires outlines and is based in 3D, in Blender. I'm sure you'll love it and the tutorial as well!
