earth topology / bathymetry model based on NASA Earth Observations datasets.
although this is meant to be scientifically accurate, note that the height is exaggerated by a factor of about 100 -- the distance between the tallest/lowest points is about 10% of the radius. On the real Earth, this ratio is close to 1/10 of 1% depending on how its defined.
the ratio of the 'depth of the deepest point in the ocean' to the 'height of the tallest mountain' is 80 / 64.
the models are based on icospheres build of equilateral triangles, with displacements applied from the NASA datasets. This means that the model is relatively homogeneous -- there is no quality loss around the poles.
