Meade LXD75 Schmidt-Newtonian 10 telescope static version

Meade LXD75 Schmidt-Newtonian 10 telescope static version 3D model

Description

This is my telescope. I had the advantage of having it in my hands to model it and check for geometry andshaders accuracy. It was modeled in 3ds Max using cm as units. The only external plugin used was the V-Ray render engine.

It is presented in a 30° Latitud, 35° Rignt Ascension, 25° Declination and 20° tube rotation position, a very fancy one to present it, comfortable to position an observer.

Although it is a highly detailed model, as you can verify in the images, it is a lowpoly model smoothed using NURMS subdivision + smoothing groups (no turbosmooth).

The 120 objects in it are named after their actual names, and so are shaders and textures. Textures were made as vectors using Corel Draw! and exported as bitmaps.

WARNING: although all objects are linked and their movents restricted to only the ones allowed, cords could not be linked to follow the telescope movements. So I preferred to group them all, hence the "static version". I urge you not to attempt to change its pointing position unless you really know what you are doing, but if you still want to try it, please e-mail me to provide instructions.
