Paracetamol (formula: C18H21NO3; CAS: 103-90-2; systematic name: N-(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethanamide) is a mild analgesic typically used for pain relief and to relieve fever in children. It is often sold in combination with other medications, e.g. decongestants in many cold medications. It is the most commonly used medication for pain and fever in both the United States and Europe and is on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines. Trade names include Tylenol and Panadol.
