Morphine (Formula: C17H19NO3; CAS: 57-27-2) is a naturally occuring opiate. It acts directly on the central nervous system (CNS) to decrease the feeling of pain. Side effects include a decreased respiratory effort, low blood pressure, drowsiness, vomiting, and constipation. There is a high potential for addiction.
