Description

Ibuprofen (Formula: C13H18O2; CAS: 15687-27-1; Systematic name: (RS)-2-(4-(2-methylpropyl)phenyl)propanoic acid) is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for treating pain, fever, and inflammation. It can be taken orally or intravenously. It works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins by decreasing the activity of the enzyme cyclooxygenase.
