Preview images were rendered with blender renderer.The LOD stages in the blender file are on layers 2-6, and can be viewed by pressing the corresponding number in the 3d view.
All 5 LOD stages share the same UV layout, therefore only needing to load one set of textures into memory at runtime. As a tradeoff however, some texture deterioration occurs on the low poly LOD stages. To mitigate this, uv seams have carefully been chosen to hide the effect (see preview images).
