Metal bust of academician I.P. Pavlov.
Russian and Soviet scientist, physiologist, vivisector, creator of the science of higher nervous activity, physiological school; winner of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1904 for his work on the physiology of digestion[7]. Academician of the Imperial St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences (1907), Full State Councilor. Chairman of the Society of Russian Doctors in memory of S. P. Botkin (1906-1913).
He is known for dividing the whole set of physiological reflexes into conditional and unconditional reflexes, and also studied the psychophysiology of temperament types and properties of nervous systems underlying behavioral individual differences.
