Beautiful sculpture made by Auguste Cain in 1867, famous french sculptor. It’s located at the entrance of the Louvre school, porte Jaujard (door Jaujard). Jacques Jaujard was the savior of the Louvre art collection. Before the German army arrived in Paris, and during the German occupation, against the orders of the Vichy government, he organized the removal and safe storage, in the provinces, of the french art collections.
