Labu Sayong is a distinctive type of pottery vessel crafted from clay. It’s traditionally used for storing water and has a unique design that’s closely associated with the town of Kuala Kangsar in Perak, Malaysia. Labu Sayong was developed by the skilled potters of Kampung Kepala Bendang in Kuala Kangsar. The name “Labu Sayong” itself is derived from the Malay words “labu,” meaning gourd, and “Sayong,” which is believed to be the name of a village. The pottery’s cooling properties and aesthetic appeal make it a cherished cultural artifact and souvenir in the region.
