Historical description of the coin:
This is a Hungarian 20 Forint coin from 1995.The obverse (left side) features an iris flower design in the center, with the text MAGYAR KÖZTÁRSASÁG (Hungarian Republic) inscribed around the edge. The year 1995 appears at the bottom of this side. The reverse (right side) displays the denomination 20 in large numerals, with FORINT written below it. There appears to be a mint mark BP below the denomination, which stands for Budapest, where the Hungarian Mint is located. The forint has been Hungary's official currency since 1946, replacing the pengő after a period of hyperinflation following World War II. This 20 Forint coin represents Hungary after its transition from communism to democracy, as the country became the Republic of Hungary (Magyar Köztársaság) following the fall of communism in Eastern Europe in 1989.The coin shows some signs of circulation and appears to have a slight blue-green oxidation spot visible on the obverse side.
