Historical description of the coin:
This is a British penny from 1907, from the Edwardian era. The coin shows:On the obverse (left side): The profile of King Edward VII with the Latin inscription EDWARDVS VII DEI GRA BRITT OMN REX FID DEF IND IMP which translates to Edward VII, by the Grace of God, King of all Britain, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India. On the reverse (right side): The iconic seated Britannia figure holding a trident and shield, which was a common design for British pennies of this period. The date 1907 is visible at the bottom. The coin appears to be made of bronze (copper with small amounts of tin and zinc), which was the standard composition for British pennies of this era. It shows some green patina, which is typical of copper-based coins that have been exposed to environmental conditions over time. This penny was part of the pre-decimal British currency system where 1 pound = 20 shillings and 1 shilling = 12 pennies.
