Hamamelis Virginiana: Witch Hazel Known commonly as Witch Hazel, Hamamelis Virginiana is a species of flowering shrub native to Eastern North America, from Novia Scotia west to Minnesota and south to central florida. It is a small, deciduous tree/shrub growing up to 20 ft in height, with yellow, red, or orange flowers. It is a long history of use in traditional medicine, originally by Native Americans to treat inflammations and tumors, and later adopted by early Puritan settlers. Nowadays it is also commonly used to treat acne and rosacea.
