Description
Name: Sphenophyllum LowPoly
Scientific: Sphenophyllum miravallis
This Variation: 4 of 4. This is a Low Poly model. A High Poly version is also available.
Notes: A small extinct plant that was part of the Carboniferous forest understory. It appeared in the Devonian period and went extinct in the Permian; it is possible some species survived until the Triassic. It appears to have occupied the swampy shorelines in between larger plants, and probably had its roots in water. It is related to modern day clubmosses and horsetails, but with no modern day representatives. It had a small herbaceous body with jointed stems, cuneate leaves in whorls of three, and terminal cones or sporophylls. Anatomic aspects of the plant suggest both an aquatic and a terrestrial habitat. Fossils have been found virtually the world over suggesting the plant had a global range.

Ancient -- 8,505 polygons, 11,396 vertices -- 1.48m tall. Very old plant.
-
Young -- 4,122 polygons, 6,385 vertices -- 66.77cm tall. Smaller plant, some half way through its maturing cycle.
-
Immature -- 361 polygons, 640 vertices -- 25.91cm tall. Very small and young plant.
-
Seedling -- 203 polygons, 235 vertices -- 15.87cm tall. Very young plant just forming its first true leaves.
-
Small Patch -- 30,750 polygons, 44,349 vertices -- 1.18m tall. A small patch containg a few plants.
-
Medium Patch -- 65,133 polygons, 92,639 vertices -- 1.18m tall. A medium patch with several plants
-
Large Patch -- 143,309 polygons, 202,731 vertices -- 1.33m tall. A large patch with many plants.
-
Lower Poly -- 4,276 polygons, 6,811 vertices -- 1.22m tall. Fewer polys to save system resources. For mid or distant renders. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
-
Higher Poly -- 13,217 polygons, 16,499 vertices -- 1.22m tall. More polys for greater detail. For close-up renders. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
-
Uniform Mesh -- 6,774 polygons, 9,336 vertices -- 1.22m tall. Uniform meshing throughout (as opposed to adaptive). For easier editing. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
Re-meshing and any reasonable modification available upon request. No charge to existing customers of the product.
The textures included are mainly 4k (4096x4096); additional texture sizes of medium 2k, small 1k, and tiny <1k textures can also be downloaded. Separated alpha maps can be download as well.
