Description
Name: Cordaites LowPoly
Scientific: Cordaites principalis
This Variation: 3 of 4. This is a Low Poly model. A High Poly version is also available.
Notes: Extinct plant from the late Carboniferous to the Permian Period (about 323 to 299 million years ago). Fossil specimens have been found in both drier hinterland regions as well as floodplains and swampy ground. It was more common in brackish, swamp areas, but it is notable for being able to colonise drier regions, a feature absent from many plants of this era. This seed plant had leathery, strap-shaped leaves and is thought to be closely related to conifers (at one time it was thought to be the ancestor of modern conifers, but this is no longer considered the case). Those that grew in swampy areas had a more extended stilt-root system then those that grew in drier areas. Fossils have been found mainly in Europe and Asia, but a more extensive range is evident.
Included in this Package: 14 models in total

Thriving -- 7,610 polygons, 15,594 vertices -- 24.23m tall. Peak health.
-
Unhealthy -- 5,128 polygons, 9,562 vertices -- 23.7m tall. Relatively poor state with foliage missing or diseased.
-
Dying -- 3,752 polygons, 6,084 vertices -- 23.67m tall. Just hanging onto life and showing only unhealthy and diseased foliage.
-
Dead -- 2,625 polygons, 3,475 vertices -- 23.49m tall. Showing only bare and broken branches and dead foliage.
-
Uprooted -- 2,628 polygons, 3,482 vertices -- 3.96m tall. Dead plant fallen onto its side.
-
Stump -- 1,130 polygons, 1,285 vertices -- 3.54m tall. A dead plant with its trunk broken and missing.
-
Ancient -- 7,841 polygons, 15,502 vertices -- 25.47m tall. Very old plant, larger and considerably gnarled.
-
Young -- 5,786 polygons, 12,146 vertices -- 17.26m tall. Smaller plant, some half way through its maturing cycle.
-
Immature -- 1,698 polygons, 3,825 vertices -- 6.02m tall. Very small and young plant.
-
Sapling -- 340 polygons, 833 vertices -- 84.8cm tall. Recently sprouted, may not have any leaves.
-
Lower Poly -- 6,560 polygons, 14,214 vertices -- 24.23m tall. Fewer polys to save system resources. For mid or distant renders. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
-
Higher Poly -- 11,230 polygons, 19,537 vertices -- 24.23m tall. More polys for greater detail. For close-up renders. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
-
Uniform Mesh -- 7,775 polygons, 15,188 vertices -- 24.23m tall. Uniform meshing throughout (as opposed to adaptive). For easier editing. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
Re-meshing and any reasonable modification available upon request. No charge to existing customers of the product.
The textures included are mainly 4k (4096x4096); additional texture sizes of medium 2k, small 1k, and tiny <1k textures can also be downloaded. Separated alpha maps can be download as well.
