Notes: Extinct plant from the late Carboniferous to the Permian Period (about 323 to 299 million years ago). Fossil specimens have been found in both drier hinterland regions as well as floodplains and swampy ground. It was more common in brackish, swamp areas, but it is notable for being able to colonise drier regions, a feature absent from many plants of this era. This seed plant had leathery, strap-shaped leaves and is thought to be closely related to conifers (at one time it was thought to be the ancestor of modern conifers, but this is no longer considered the case). Those that grew in swampy areas had a more extended stilt-root system then those that grew in drier areas. Fossils have been found mainly in Europe and Asia, but a more extensive range is evident.

7. Stump -- 6,736 polygons, 7,978 vertices -- 7.63m tall. A dead plant with its trunk broken and missing.
8. Ancient -- 113,959 polygons, 213,431 vertices -- 21.65m tall. Very old plant, larger and considerably gnarled.
9. Young -- 74,232 polygons, 148,518 vertices -- 15.61m tall. Smaller plant, some half way through its maturing cycle.
10. Immature -- 8,046 polygons, 16,233 vertices -- 5.32m tall. Very small and young plant.
11. Sapling -- 1,518 polygons, 3,786 vertices -- 98.52cm tall. Recently sprouted, may not have any leaves.
12. Lower Poly -- 58,914 polygons, 147,913 vertices -- 21.24m tall. Fewer polys to save system resources. For mid or distant renders. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
