Name: Common Bamboo

Scientific: Bambusa vulgaris

A.K.A.: Golden Bamboo, Bamboo

This Variation: 4 of 5. This is a Low Poly model. A High Poly version is also available.

Notes: An open-clump type bamboo species that is native to Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Southeast Asia, and to the province of Yunnan in southern China, but it has been widely cultivated in many other places and has become naturalized in several regions. Among bamboo species, it is one of the largest and most easily recognized. It grows mostly on river banks, road sides, wastelands, and open ground, generally in the low altitudes. It is a preferred species for erosion control. This plant is the most widely grown bamboo throughout the tropics and subtropics.

  4. Unhealthy -- 23,165 polygons, 32,438 vertices, 21.8m tall. Poor state with considerable foliage missing or diseased.
  5. Dying -- 13,978 polygons, 18,790 vertices, 21.1m tall. Just hanging onto life and showing only unhealthy and diseased foliage.
  6. Dead -- 7,661 polygons, 9,166 vertices, 20.33m tall. Showing only broken and dead foliage.
  7. Ancient -- 25,203 polygons, 36,610 vertices, 24.98m tall. Very old plant, larger than usual.
  8. Young -- 23,457 polygons, 34,605 vertices, 17.12m tall. Smaller plant, fully mature but still growing.
  9. Growing -- 11,038 polygons, 16,184 vertices, 9.08m tall. Plant not yet mature, some half way through its growing cycle.
  10. Immature -- 1,951 polygons, 2,956 vertices, 2.86m tall. Very small and young plant.
  11. Seedling -- 689 polygons, 1,067 vertices, 73.54cm tall. Very young plant just forming its first true leaves.
