Coccoloba Diversifolia: PigeonplumCoccoloba Diversifolia, also called the Tietongue and Pigeonplum is native to coastal areas of the Carribean, Central America, Southern Mexico, Southern Florida, and the Bahamas. The Pigeonplum is a small to medium-sized tree growing to 30ft, with flowers sprouting on long spikes in their springtime blooming season. The fruit, which ripens in the fall, is edible, fleshy and purple, hence the name Pigeonplum. The tree is unable to survive hard frost, but it is resistant to high winds, salt and drought.
