Agave Attenuata: Fox tail/Swan's Neck Agave

Agave attenuata is a species of agave commonly known as the Foxtail, Lion's tail or Swan's Neck Agave for its development of a curved inflorescence, unusual among agaves. Native to the plateaus of central west Mexico, it is popular as an ornamental plant in gardens in many other places with subtropical and warm climates. The leafy clusters can reach 4 ft wide by 4 ft high, and the dramatic flowering stems can rise to heights of 8-10 ft. Although a regular sight in gardens, its speculated that Agave Attenuata is currently rare in the wild.
