Description
Name: Ribbonwood LowPoly
Scientific: Idiospermum australiense
This Variation: 3 of 4. This is a Low Poly model. A High Poly version is also available.
Notes: This tree is found only in two small areas of the tropical rainforests of northeastern Queensland, Australia. It is a relic of the ancient forests of Gondwana, surviving for 120 million years, and displaying features that are almost identical to fossil records from that time. This species was originally described in 1912 by the German botanist Ludwig Diels, based on material he collected in 1902. He arrived in the area in June, a month that is now known as the peak of the flowering season for this species, but he was ill-prepared and was only able to collect flowers that had already fallen to the ground. By the time Diels published his paper, the lowland forests where he found it were being cleared for sugar cane farming, and were gone by the 1920s. The original specimen plant material was destroyed in a bombing raid in 1943. The species was thought to have been lost entirely, but in 1971 a grazier discovered some of his cattle had died unexpectedly after suffering spasms. It was later found that the cattle had ingested the fruit of this tree, hence the rediscovery of this species.

-
Flowering -- 11,981 polygons, 19,744 vertices -- 28.24cm tall. A standard plant with flower.
-
Fruiting -- 16,618 polygons, 26,451 vertices -- 28.24cm tall. A standard plant with berries.
-
Thriving -- 12,272 polygons, 20,294 vertices -- 28.24m tall. Peak health.
-
Unhealthy -- 9,258 polygons, 14,446 vertices -- 27.92m tall. Relatively poor state with foliage missing or diseased.
-
Dying -- 7,527 polygons, 10,884 vertices -- 27.79m tall. Just hanging onto life and showing only unhealthy and diseased foliage.
-
Dead -- 4,714 polygons, 5,711 vertices -- 27.91m tall. Showing only bare and broken branches and dead foliage.
-
Stump -- 3,806 polygons, 4,551 vertices -- 17.11m tall. A dead plant with its trunk broken and missing.
-
Uprooted -- 9,934 polygons, 12,573 vertices -- 13.71m tall. Dead plant fallen onto its side.
-
Ancient -- 15,527 polygons, 23,495 vertices -- 30.81m tall. Very old plant, larger and considerably gnarled.
-
Young -- 7,151 polygons, 12,697 vertices -- 22.74m tall. Smaller plant, some half way through its maturing cycle.
-
Immature -- 1,382 polygons, 2,666 vertices -- 9.27m tall. Very small and young plant.
-
Sapling -- 269 polygons, 6,28 vertices -- 1.37m tall. Recently sprouted, may not have any leaves.
-
Lower Poly -- 6,776 polygons, 13,400 vertices -- 28.24m tall. Fewer polys to save system resources. For mid or distant renders. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
-
Higher Poly -- 27,714 polygons, 38,566 vertices -- 28.24m tall. More polys for greater detail. For close-up renders. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
-
Quads -- 13,469 polygons, 22,449 vertices -- 28.24m tall. Quad polygons throughout (as opposed to mixed, which is much more efficient). Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
-
Triangles -- 22,865 polygons, 19,830 vertices -- 28.24m tall. Triangle polygons throughout (as opposed to mixed, which is much more efficient). Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
-
Uniform Mesh -- 10,551 polygons, 17,949 vertices -- 28.24m tall. Uniform meshing throughout (as opposed to adaptive). For easier editing. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
Re-meshing and any reasonable modification available upon request. No charge to existing customers of the product.
The textures included are mainly 4k (4096x4096); additional texture sizes of medium 2k, small 1k, and tiny <1k textures can also be downloaded. Separated alpha maps can be download as well.
EVERYPlant has a mission ... which is to model every plant species in the world (plus some extinct, fantasy and sci-fi variations as well)! Okay, maybe not every plant! If you don't see it in our store, please get in contact; we have thousands of species on file awaiting upload.
