EVERYPlant Ribbonwood LowPoly 1 --18 Models-- Low-poly 3D model

Description

Name: Ribbonwood LowPoly

Scientific: Idiospermum australiense

This Variation: 1 of 4. This is a Low Poly model. A High Poly version is also available.

Notes: This tree is found only in two small areas of the tropical rainforests of northeastern Queensland, Australia. It is a relic of the ancient forests of Gondwana, surviving for 120 million years, and displaying features that are almost identical to fossil records from that time. This species was originally described in 1912 by the German botanist Ludwig Diels, based on material he collected in 1902. He arrived in the area in June, a month that is now known as the peak of the flowering season for this species, but he was ill-prepared and was only able to collect flowers that had already fallen to the ground. By the time Diels published his paper, the lowland forests where he found it were being cleared for sugar cane farming, and were gone by the 1920s. The original specimen plant material was destroyed in a bombing raid in 1943. The species was thought to have been lost entirely, but in 1971 a grazier discovered some of his cattle had died unexpectedly after suffering spasms. It was later found that the cattle had ingested the fruit of this tree, hence the rediscovery of this species.

Included in this Package: 18 models in total

  1. Standard -- 13,807 polygons, 22,727 vertices -- 34.85m tall. Green, fully mature and in good health. Useable in most scenes.
  2. Flowering -- 13,852 polygons, 22,797 vertices -- 34.85cm tall. A standard plant with flower.
  3. Fruiting -- 18,934 polygons, 30,119 vertices -- 34.85cm tall. A standard plant with berries.
  4. Thriving -- 15,303 polygons, 25,699 vertices -- 34.85m tall. Peak health.
  5. Unhealthy -- 11,571 polygons, 18,218 vertices -- 34.85m tall. Relatively poor state with foliage missing or diseased.
  6. Dying -- 8,409 polygons, 11,937 vertices -- 34.89m tall. Just hanging onto life and showing only unhealthy and diseased foliage.
  7. Dead -- 6,023 polygons, 7,340 vertices -- 33.89m tall. Showing only bare and broken branches and dead foliage.
  8. Stump -- 1,170 polygons, 1,308 vertices -- 4.27m tall. A dead plant with its trunk broken and missing.
  9. Uprooted -- 11,264 polygons, 14,486 vertices -- 15.79m tall. Dead plant fallen onto its side.
  10. Ancient -- 23,366 polygons, 33,139 vertices -- 47.7m tall. Very old plant, larger and considerably gnarled.
  11. Young -- 8,363 polygons, 14,807 vertices -- 25.58m tall. Smaller plant, some half way through its maturing cycle.
  12. Immature -- 2,156 polygons, 4,322 vertices -- 9.74m tall. Very small and young plant.
  13. Sapling -- 395 polygons, 939 vertices -- 1.88m tall. Recently sprouted, may not have any leaves.
  14. Lower Poly -- 7,349 polygons, 14,951 vertices -- 34.85m tall. Fewer polys to save system resources. For mid or distant renders. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
  15. Higher Poly -- 35,266 polygons, 47,942 vertices -- 34.85m tall. More polys for greater detail. For close-up renders. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
  16. Quads -- 15,482 polygons, 25,575 vertices -- 34.85m tall. Quad polygons throughout (as opposed to mixed, which is much more efficient). Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
  17. Triangles -- 26,541 polygons, 22,793 vertices -- 34.85m tall. Triangle polygons throughout (as opposed to mixed, which is much more efficient). Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
  18. Uniform Mesh -- 11,804 polygons, 20,387 vertices -- 34.85m tall. Uniform meshing throughout (as opposed to adaptive). For easier editing. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).

Re-meshing and any reasonable modification available upon request. No charge to existing customers of the product.

The textures included are mainly 4k (4096x4096); additional texture sizes of medium 2k, small 1k, and tiny <1k textures can also be downloaded. Separated alpha maps can be download as well.

EVERYPlant has a mission ... which is to model every plant species in the world (plus some extinct, fantasy and sci-fi variations as well)! Okay, maybe not every plant! If you don't see it in our store, please get in contact; we have thousands of species on file awaiting upload.
